Below is the consult list for the inpatient service. When choosing who to consult, first check to see if the patient has seen anyone before. If the pt has not seen anyone before, the list is in order of preference. Remember to always call the consultant yourself and be prepared to give a brief presentation with your specific question. Please call your senior or attending when in doubt.

Ecat monitors: If you have a patient with a stroke and you have a question of afib as a cause even with a clean tele x 48h there is an ECAT (external cardiac ambulatory tele) that will monitor continuously for 30 days. Different from a 30d event monitor as you don't require a button to trigger monitoring, different from holter which is continuous 2-3d. If you need to order one call Jane at Ohio Heart (206-1144) and fax and rx to her at 206-1122. Include patient's name and DOB if you leave her a message. Make sure dx included on the rx (afib, CVA, etc).
