OBJECTIVES:

  1. Organize and prioritize a differential diagnosis for fever in the tropics

  2. Describe an effective approach to diagnosing the patient with an undifferentiated fever, including using leukocyte and leukocyte differential/eosinophil counts.

  3. List common diseases causing fever based on syndromic clues.  

  4. Effectively manage a patient with fever in the tropics in whom testing is limited.

WATCH the "Approach to Fever in the Tropics" video presentation.  Then SKIM the article “Fever in the Returned Traveler.”  Note taking is encouraged.  Then, take your MODULE QUIZ, which will be automatically submitted to the course instructor.
