Welcome to the Global Health Electives Page

Please review the TCH/UC Family Medicine Residency Program Policy on Participation in Global and Underserved Health Curriculum for details.

Global Health Electives are typically first experienced in the R3/R5 year as "The Global and Underserved Health Senior Experience", a unique (and required) opportunity for third year residents to spend up to 4 weeks in an underserved, international or domestic setting, with up to $2000 for travel expenses from the department.

In addition to the R3/R5 Global and Underserved Health Experience, some residents have arranged additional Global Health Electives.  These should be arranged in similar fashion to the Global Health Experience, though restrictions apply, special permission is needed, and funding is not available.
